Read the reviews before booking an MOT with these guys and should have really thought better. I originally booked in with a different garage, but stumbled across these chaps by accident. They were really great to squeeze me in under short notice (as I was actually booked in with a different garage just around the corner!) I left my number with him and told him not to leave a voice message as I don't have them set up (I had seen the reviews stating that these guys don't call the car owner). So I left it in the morn and was told it'd be done in the afternoon. So I left it. I hadn't heard anything, so I called again 5 hours later to which the guy said "oh yeah it's all done, it's literally just finished." Which was great. So I stopped by to get it. Turns out, it was finished an hour before I called up and they didn't get around to making contact. This has been seen on many other reviews for their garage. I then went to my car which was left completely unlocked in their car park. Thankfully I didn't have anything in there. I found out that these guys tend to have a habit for this as well. Wouldn't rush back to this place if I needed any work or an MOT in the future. Would happily find another place. But the guy was fairly friendly on the phone, so that's why it's 2*, as well as them being very flexible with booking me in. I just don't appreciate my car being left unlocked for any length of time, no matter where it is. Im sure many people would be in the same boat.
1) The mechanic didn't let me know when my van mot was done I had to phone up and ask . And checked the internet that's how I found out it was done etc . 2) incapable to know the difference between metal and rubber . for a suspension spring that is not obviously broken. 3) they found work on my van that didn't even need doing. Etc : suspension was fine when i took it to another mechanic. But at quay motors they told me my suspension needed doing 4) it would of cost me all in 500 approx. But another mechanic done all the jobs for 150. And some parts didn't even needed doing .
Have been using Quay Motors for 15+ years, have never had any complaints.Staff are very knowledgeable, and will always let you know in advance should anything be found that was not expected.Extremely good value compared to others, never carry out nugatory work.They come highly recommended.
